Placentia, Calif.—July 14th, 2021— Polly’s Pies, a family-owned Southern California dining destination for more than 50 years with 14 locations, is launching Pie it Forward: Back to School Style in an effort to collect new shoes for local foster and community youth in partnership with the well-known Orangewood Foundation based in Santa Ana, Calif. The popular eatery will kick off the promotion on Instagram on July 19th with pie giveaways.

“I always remember being so excited to get new shoes, clothes, and school supplies before school started; we forget that so many don’t get that same experience”, says Jacklyn Mitosinka, Director of Brand Development for the restaurant and granddaughter of one of the founders. Giving back runs in the family; Brooke Smith and Kate Schlentz, also granddaughters of the owners, started the Silly Sisters Shoe Drive back in 2015 and were the inspiration for the Pie it Forward: Back to School Style Campaign. We hope to continue his legacy through our Pie it Forward: Back to School Style campaign.”
